Two Things I Do Every Single Grow

by Nebula Haze

Here are two, easy, low-skill crucial techniques that together control plant height, increase density, bud quality, and even potency.

Both techniques were used to create this monstrously productive Purple Ghost Candy plant.

What are they? I’m curious if you’ve heard of these or not. Drumroll please…

Two super easy and effective plant training techniques that can be used together, or in isolation:

  • Supercropping (control height)
  • Lollipopping (can increase yields and especially increases overall bud density/quality/potency).

These two techniques give you greater control over plant growth, for better home harvests!

“Supercrop” Your Plants (control height)

Supercropping solves an immediate problem (my plants are too tall) but height isn’t necessarily the biggest problem. I always use either supercropping, or the basic ideas behind supercropping, in every grow.

What is Supercropping: Supercropping (or “super cropping”) is a specific bending technique that lets you control the height (and shape) of out-of-control cannabis plants, by bending branches at major angles. The supercropping technique lets you make bends that otherwise wouldn’t be possible without breaking the stem.

If plants get too tall for your space, drastic measures can be taken.

“Lollipop” Your Plants (increase bud density/quality)

Lollipopping is a straightforward, quick way to increase you bud quality. No skill needed. Done right, lollipopping increases overall bud density, average potency, and even yields. If a grower is not doing it, it’s seriously just bud left on the table.

What is Lollipopping: To “lollipop” a growing cannabis plant means to remove most growth from the bottom of the plant that isn’t getting light. With lollipopping, the cannabis grower leaves the top of the plant untouched, so it’s full on top and bare on bottom, like a lollipop.

The lollipopping technique leaves the cannabis plant resembling a lollipop. Big on top, bare on the bottom.
